MOGILEV, 20 March (BelTA) – The ninth meeting of the Belarusian and Russian sister cities will take place in Mogilev on 30-31 March, BelTA learnt from the Mogilev City Hall. MOGILEV, 14 March (BelTA) – The ninth international investment forum Mill of Success will take place in the city of Bobruisk on 30 June – 1 July, BelTA learned from Ruslan Strakhar, Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee.

The investment forum was held in Mogilev for eight years. It is the first time Bobruisk will host the event. The choice is not an accident since Bobruisk is the second largest city in the region in terms of population numbers and the industrial potential. Apart from that, Bobruisk is a cultural capital of Belarus in 2017. The forum’s program is being prepared taking into account the honorary status, too. The forum will include three panels focusing on innovations from science to production sector, the development of tourism and culture, and the free economic zone Mogilev.

MINSK, 9 March (BelTA) – It will take from two to three years to build a new terminal at the Minsk National Airport, BelTA learned from Vladimir Kostin, Director of the Aviation Department of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry.

The official said: “We expect the number of passengers the Minsk National Airport handles every year to reach 4.1-4.2 million people by 2020. It will be a very good figure. Once the number of passengers reaches 4-4.5 million people per annum, we intend to start the pre-investment feasibility study for building a new terminal in the airport.”

MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – An inspection team from France will stay in Belarus on 20-24 March to choose and examine a unit of the Belarusian army in line with the Conventional Weapons in Europe Treaty. The inspectors will also visit the 336th Rocket Artillery Brigade within the framework of the 2011 Vienna Document, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – Belarus reaffirms the readiness to develop all-round cooperation with Egypt, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Mohamed Al-Assar, Minister of Military Production of Egypt, on 14 March, BelTA has learned.

The head of state pointed out the importance of the resolution of the Egyptian side to implement top-level arrangements, and this visit testifies to that. The minister arrived in Minsk with a delegation including representatives of various industries.

Alexander Lukashenko reminded that during his visit to Egypt he managed to reach important agreements in various fields of cooperation with the President of Egypt.

MINSK, 9 March (BelTA) – The two-day working visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk to Karachi (the administrative center of Pakistan’s Sind Province) started on 9 March, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Pakistan.

On the first day of the visit the Belarusian delegation took part in the opening of the fourth meeting of the joint Belarus-Pakistan commission on trade and economic cooperation. The agenda included a wide range of issues related to bilateral trade, economic, investment, sci-tech, cultural and education cooperation. Prior to the meeting Vitaly Vovk and his counterpart in the intergovernmental commission, Trade Minister of Pakistan Khurram Dastgir Khan discussed the ways to intensify bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

On the sidelines of the meeting the Belarusian Industry Minister is set to meet with the authorities of Sind Province to talk over interregional cooperation with Grodno and Gomel Oblasts of Belarus as part of the earlier signed memorandums of cooperation. The head of the Belarusian delegation is also expected to hold talks in Pakistan’s biggest industrial, logistics, mining and metallurgy companies.
